Job Summary
This position is responsible for the supervision of dispatchers who route, schedule and dispatch professional truck drivers, equipment and freight, and reporting activities to the operations group.
Depending on the location, this may include bulk, line, local, HH, third-party and owner operator drivers.
Essential Duties
Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
Ensure processes and policies for dispatch are being followed; recommend changes to improve services, reduce costs and optimize use of resources
Supervise the routing, scheduling, and dispatching of drivers and equipment
Monitors the integrity of the data in the system that is entered by dispatch
Supervise Dispatch Administrative Assistant work
Plan, schedule and review workload and manpower of dispatch team to meet operational targets
Approve time sheets and PTO requests for dispatchers and drivers
Oversee the professional development and productivity of all staff members; ensure proper goals, training, professional development and project requirements are met
Coordinate Repair and Maintenance needs for drivers
Depending on location may be responsible for building and managing third-party carrier relationships
May be responsible for reviewing third-party carrier driver pay settlements before being submitted to AP
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Two to three years related transportation industry-related experience; previous supervisory experience preferred
Valid driver’s license, Class A CDL preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient use of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Working knowledge of transportation industry software
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines
Ability to work independently and problem solve
Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
Exceptional customer service both internally and externally
Working knowledge of DOT regulations, weights, measures and hours of service requirements and US/Canadian customs requirements

Competitive base annual salary range: $28.10 – $43.50 depending on experience and qualifications +$5.00/hr. location differential
