Job Summary

The Terminal Operator position entails versatile support at sites. Encompassing responsibilities such as fuel delivery, dock attendance, warehouse and tank farm operations and maintenance, customer service, monthly inspections, and office administration.

Job Functions

  • Dock Duties (if applicable):
    1. Greet customers and provide safe fueling services for vessels, ensuring proper fueling protocols are followed.
    2. Prepare and deliver packaged products and oil lubes to customers, completing purchase order requests accurately.
    3. Deploy boom as necessary and maintain a clean and organized dock and yard.
    4. Complete meter sheets, invoices, and maintain timely submission to the office.
    5. Inspect hoses and equipment daily for damage, ensuring equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Driver Duties:
    1. Safely deliver fuel to home heating customers, commercial customers, and other locations, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
    2. Complete invoices accurately and submit them to the office on a daily basis.
    3. Communicate any unsafe conditions or concerns to supervisors to ensure safe delivery operations.
    4. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking vehicle components and fluids.
  • Other Duties:
    1. Maintain the professional appearance of trucks and facilities by performing necessary cleaning tasks.
    2. Assist with various tasks related to inventory, warehouse assistance, and ground maintenance.
    3. Participate in safety meetings, promptly report injuries, spills, and property damage, and identify and communicate potential job hazards.
    4. Greets customers and safely provides fuel to tanks and marine vessels.
    5. Prepares and delivers packaged products and lubes to customers.
    6. Participates in scheduled and unscheduled boom deployments.
    7. Completes meter sheets and invoices, ensuring timely submission to the office.
    8. Maintains cleanliness of dock and yard, including handling waste disposal.
    9. Checks hoses and equipment daily for damage.Assists with barge operations as needed.
    10. Safely delivers fuel to various customers in a timely manner.
    11. Completes daily invoices and submits them to the office.
    12. Operates and transports used oil trucks.
    13. Reports any unsafe delivery conditions to the Manager/Lead Driver.
    14. Follows DOT regulations, keeps accurate truck logs, and conducts pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
    15. Communicates with customers to ensure proper service and safety during deliveries.
    16. Follows company’s Petroleum Operations Manual procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
    17. Performs office administration tasks, including customer service, billing, dispatch, and reconciliations.
    18. Assists with bulk inventory, warehouse tasks, and ground maintenance.
    19. Participates in safety meetings and reports incidents or hazards.
    20. Maintains a neat, professional appearance with trucks, facility, and equipment.
    21. Adheres to Delta Western’s drug-free workplace policy.
    22. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of commercial driving experience or a combination of education and experience preferred.
  • If CDL with all endorsements was recently obtained, the company is willing to provide entry-level driver training experience.
  • Certificates, Licenses & Registrations: Valid Class B or A CDL with X endorsement
  • TWIC, Hazmat, Hazwoper can be acquired after hire.
  • Medical Examiner’s Certificate
  • Forklift Certificate can be acquired after hire.
  • PIC if applicable
