Essential Duties
· Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
· Performs electrical troubleshooting
· Performs computer diagnostics
· Performs part diagnostics, repair and replacement
· Performs engine troubleshooting and repairs
· Performs emissions troubleshooting and repair
Qualifications
· High School diploma or GED equivalent
· Two to three years heavy trailer, truck equipment repair and maintenance experience
· Technical or trade school training in the field of diesel mechanics desirable
· Valid AK driver’s license
· Class A CDL w/HazMat endorsement desirable
· Must own a comprehensive tool kit to perform the job
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Competent level performance of M2 job duties, knowledge, skills and abilities
· Basic fabrication skills
· Intermediate knowledge of engine troubleshooting and repair
· Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer)
· Intermediate skills using the TMT program
· Intermediate skills using PeopleNet software
· Advanced knowledge of electrical troubleshooting
· Advanced knowledge of computer diagnostics
· Advanced part diagnostics and repair
· Advanced knowledge of emissions troubleshooting and repair
· Advanced knowledge of repair manuals and access
· Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, completes tasks on time or communicates alternate plans

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. In addition to using computerized diagnostic equipment, mechanics use a variety of power and machine tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, grinding machines, and welding equipment. Hand tools, including pliers, socket and ratchets, and screwdrivers, are also commonly used. The employee is often exposed to a variety of extreme weather and temperature conditions and fluctuations, such as cold, heat, snow, wind, rain, etc.
