POSITION PROFILE (Job Summary) 

The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Accounts Payable within a shared services environment supporting TOTE companies. Responsibilities include administering and implementing the group’s objectives in coordination with supporting units to successfully achieve TOTE’s overall goals. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS 

  • Directly supervise the Accounts Payable team, ensuring activities align with department policies, procedures, and service level agreements within a shared services environment.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, performance management, recognition, disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee the development, documentation, review, and continuous improvement of NSE related processes and internal controls; ensure staff compliance with established procedures and standards. 
  • Establish and monitor key metrics to track transaction volumes, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance accuracy, control costs and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with General Accounting to ensure accurate accrual cutoffs for month end close 
  • Assist with schedules and supporting documentation for the annual financial audit.

 QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications) 

  • Bachelor’s degree required (in accounting or related field). 
  • Four years accounting-related experience is preferred.
  • Two years supervisory experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  •  Solid knowledge of financial analysis and financial accounting systems.
  •  Strong accounting skills with up-to-date understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. 
  •  Proven team player with excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  •  Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  •  Proficient in standard software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel); comfortable working in a Windows environment.
  •  Apply professional and technical concepts to perform duties and resolve complex problems.
  •  Evaluate financial systems and practices, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  •  Develop and implement financial procedures, controls and best practices.
  •  Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive reports, and documentation. 
  • Manage multiple tasks, set objectives and re-prioritize as necessary to meet deadlines.
  •  Foster effective partnerships across divisions and collaborate with management to achieve organizational goals.
  • Perform efficiently under pressure, adapting to changing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Communicate tactfully, clearly, and concisely with staff and management across the organization

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Typically works in an open-concept office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and moderate temperature and noise level. 

PHYSICAL EFFORT 

The majority of the work involves standard physical effort 

MANUAL DEXTERITY 

Requires moderate use of a personal computer for word processing, spreadsheets, compiling reports, statistical data analysis and drafting memoranda and similar documents

The salary range is $52,900-92,600 with an anticipated hiring range of $60,000-75,000. Pay will be based on several factors including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location and specific job duties.
