Description
The Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) will perform the following duties:
· Performs maintenance on aircraft, aircraft engines, propellers and components within regulatory requirements.
· Inspects aircraft, engines, propellers and components to determine airworthiness of condition and function.
· Repairs aircraft, engines, propellers and components per accepted and approved data and FAA regulation.
· Complete proper records for the work accomplished, per regulation and Company requirements.
· Determines parts and supplies needs for aircraft maintenance repairs and requests them through proper channels.
· Assists in maintaining Federal, State and local regulatory requirements for equipment and facilities.
· Monitors inventory and submits parts and supplies requisitions through proper channels.
· Maintain a clean, neat and organized work area.
· Assists Company Maintenance Supervisor, as needed.
· Evaluates effectiveness of established system programs and make recommendations for improvement.
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Hold a current FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.
· Meet initial and continuing standards of the FAA Drug & Alcohol Program.
· Experience and knowledge in maintaining aircraft, and related components.
· Experience in operating tools and equipment in the process of maintaining aircraft.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision, using independent judgment and decision-making
· Ability to work as a team member in jobs that require a high level of cooperation and coordination.
· Ability to take directions and follow assignments within Company Policy & Procedures.
· Ability to analyze and solve problems.
· Must have computer skills.
· Must have a GED or High School Diploma.
· Prior Maintenance experience preferred.
· This position is very active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing up to 8 – 10 hours a day.
· Requires frequent and routine lifting or moving items weighing over 70 pounds.
· Must have work-related tools per Company minimum list.
· Must be able to pass a ten year security background check for airport badging.
· Must be 21 years or older with a clean driving record in the past five years.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT/FAA drug test.
