Summary: 

The Compensation and Benefits Manger is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization’s total reward strategy to attract, retain and motivate top talent. This role ensures that all compensation and benefits programs are competitive and complaint, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives, culture, and values. The position partners closely with HR leadership, Finance, and business leaders to drive consistency, compliance, equity, and excellence across all TOTE companies. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Design, implement, and administer compensation programs, including base pay structures, variable pay, incentives, and recognition programs.
  • Lead the annual compensation cycle, including salary planning, incentive pay and merit increases.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Partner with Saltchuk to maximize and optimize our benefits programs to include health, welfare, wellness ensuring cost effectiveness and alignment with employee needs in the markets we serve.
  • Oversee benefits and leave compliance, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and other applicable laws. 
  • Partner with Finance and HRIS to maintain accurate compensation and benefits data, reporting, and analytics
  • Provide guidance and collaborate with HR and managers to determine appropriate salary structures for new hires, promotions and salary adjustments and other compensation decisions. 
  • Develop and maintain total reward policies, communications, and tools that support employee understanding and engagement
  • Ensure all programs support the organization’s pay philosophy, goals, and legal compliance standards. 
  • Lead or support special projects such as job evaluations, pay equity analyses, and total rewards harmonizations, as assigned.
  • Lead compensation and benefits integration efforts and harmonization strategies managing change effectively to ensure clarity and transparency for employees and leadership. 
  • Conduct periodic audits of job descriptions, classifications, etc. to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct workshops or training sessions to help employees understand their total compensation packages.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to compensation and benefits to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in compensation 
  • Successful track record leading others, preferred. 
  • Proven knowledge of benefits program design, implementation, and administration
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, FLSA classifications and benefits regulations
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, multi-state, and company leave programs.
  • Proficient in HRIS and data analytics tools, strong Excel and reporting skills are required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decisions.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple levels in the organization.
  • Passion for results and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and assess relevant labor laws and regulations for legal compliance. 
  • Demonstrated discretion, integrity, and sound judgement in handling confidential information. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field 
  • Master’s degree or CCP certification, preferred

The salary range is $79,600-151,000, with an expected target salary of $110,000-130,000. Pay will be based on several factors including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location and specific job duties.

As part of the team, full-time employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, short term disability, employee assistance program, 401(k) with company match and discretionary funding, tuition reimbursement, supplemental parental leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. Full-time employees will receive a minimum of 10 days’ vacation, 10 days sick, 10 days paid holidays and one floating holiday every 12 months.
