Summary

JOB SUMMARY Acts as a liaison between sales representative and customers.  Quotes rates, assists with bookings, follows-up on customer complaints, traces cargo, initiates FCNs, releases documents on southbound/inter-island shipments and responds in a timely manner to customer inquires.  Researches, follows up and maintains current customer accounts. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in a related field required with experience in Sales, Customer Service or Traffic. LICENSE: Valid Local Driver's License. TRAVEL: N/A PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Receives and answers incoming customer service related phone calls. Quotes rates from all tariffs and researches customer's problems.2. Masters and utilizes the appropriate company business systems in all its capabilities, i.e.: inquiry, account profile, customer maintenance, vessel schedule, equipment, FCN process, loadlist, miscellaneous invoices, etc.3. Assists walk-in customers with rates, claims, CLP, and freight. Logs incoming claims and advises claimant of claims procedures4. Advises supervisor of recurring problems and makes appropriate suggestions.5. Maintains daily log of all calls regarding problems, requests, inquiries.6. Coordinates with other departments to ensure expeditious handling of customer requests.7. Requests FCN's, logs and submits for signature/completion.8. Logs incoming claims and advises claimant of claims procedures.9. Assists other outports seeking tariff rates for cargo origination to or from the port of neighboring islands.10. Seeks rates from various departments (i.e., Intermodal, Interline, etc.) as applicable.11. Submits TCA's recommending pricing adjustments.12. Performs all other duties as assigned.
