With over 40 employees housed in a newly constructed building on Ship Avenue in Anchorage, Inlet Energy is equipped with over 40,000 square feet of warehouse storage, a state-of-the-art 100,000-gallon bulk tank farm, and its own fleet of bulk fuel and lubricant trucks. 

Inlet Energy provides outstanding customer service to retail, commercial, and government customers in Alaska. Inlet’s team of professionals has the most Certified Lubrication Specialists (CLS), Oil Monitoring Analysts (OMA-1), and Machine Lubricant Analysts (MLA) in the state. Inlet Energy is based out of Anchorage with operations in Kenai, Fairbanks, and Prudhoe Bay. The inlet is also a major fuel distributor for the road system from the Kenai Peninsula to Fairbanks. 

Job Summary:

The Fuel Operations Manager is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of the bulk fuel terminal,, encompassing day-to-day operational, administrative, and security tasks, including staff management, regulatory compliance, equipment and facility maintenance, and safety, while actively contributing to customer satisfaction, inventory management, and a culture of safety and excellence. 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure safe and timely fuel deliveries in line with customer requests.
  • Address customer concerns related to deliveries.
  • Investigate and resolve customer and employee complaints.
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure contract agreements are met for various products.
  • Optimize purchasing for supplier value and relationships.
  • Monitor equipment status and facilitate maintenance.
  • Perform minor facility repairs to prevent disruptions to operations.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and training on invoicing and billing procedures.
  • Supervise daily billing and invoicing processes.
  • Monitor department spending and lead all aspects of purchase card program.
  • Collaborate with Sales/Marketing for fuel sales and pricing strategies.
  • Develop and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers.
  • Find opportunities for market expansion and growth.
  • Enforce safety policies and regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections and report findings.
  • Ensure compliance with government agency regulations.
  • Promote awareness of safety through meetings and bulletins.
  • Promote a culture of safety, service, integrity, and respect within the team.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years’ experience, preferably in the petroleum industry or a combination of education and experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Knowledge of DOT, Hours of Service, and OSHA/Hazmat regulations.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Class A CDL preferred
  • TWIC, Hazmat, and Hazwoper can be acquired after hire.
  • Port of Anchorage security card
