POSITION PROFILE (Job Summary)
This position is responsible for assisting the Assistant Controller with the financial close by performing tasks and reconciliations specific to the Logistics entities as well as reviewing others. Key responsibilities include leading a team of staff accountants, ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting records, timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions, evaluating and monitoring of internal controls, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
Essential Job Responsibilities,
- Manage a team of Accountants including hiring, training, developing, goal setting and performance management.
- Work with the Assistant Controller on the development of organizational and departmental strategy for the General Accounting department.
- Define and assign work of the team in support of departmental direction from the Assistant Controller.
- Support the Assistant Controller on state and local tax compliance, year-end income tax reporting to Corporate Parent, internal and external audits, and other duties as assigned.
- Champion a continuous improvement culture.
- Support and demonstrate an industry leading colleague experience.
- Participate in the development, review and improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures, and internal controls; review operational compliance to ensure proper controls are in place.
- Participate in the annual budget process and provide budget assistance to management and business unit staff.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and able to identify and implement changes to accounting guidelines.
- Ensure excellent customer service from TOTE Resources Accounting and Shared Services teams to the business units.
- Computer savvy with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive financial analysis/statements, reports, and written materials.
- Manage multiple assignments, set objectives/goals and re-prioritize as needed.
- Work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
- Communicate effectively with staff and management throughout the organization.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)
- Bachelor’s degree required (accounting or finance)
- Four years related accounting experience.
- CPA or equivalent preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Most work requires normal physical effort.
MANUAL DEXTERITY
Requires moderate use of personal computer (word processing and spreadsheets) for compiling reports, statistical data, composing memoranda and other similar documents.

The salary range is $66,000-94,500, with an anticipated hiring range of $88,000-92,000. Pay will be based on several factors including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location and specific job duties.
