Job Summary

The Marine Operations Manager coordinates and directs vessel and barge operations, terminal inventory planning, and supply modeling, through direct employee supervision, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Forecasts and manages internal and external terminal and vessel inventory.
  • Optimizes resupply quantities and delivery dates to ensure product reliability
  • Build and manage supply and transportation planning and budget models
  • Reports voyage cost tracking to internal stakeholders
  • Schedules and determines logistics of all marine assets to maximize efficiency.
  • Communicates schedule and plans with the carriers, counter parties, terminals and inspectors.
  • Issues voyage orders.
  • Manage all marine vessels from a compliance, operational, and cost perspective
  • Manages marine and shoreside team members
  • Organizes all operational functions of tanker, tug, barge charters, and sub-charters
  • Facilitate tanker operations with vessel crew, inspectors, and agents
  • Completes regulatory EPA and EIA testing and reporting.
  • Completes import and export reporting and tax requirements
  • Distributes C of A’s to terminals and customers, maintains records
  • Manages cargo quality standards and ensures compliance
  • Procures additives for blending
  • Coordinate all vendor support for marine related operations
  • Assist in crew management at terminal sites for barge and tanker operations 
  • Builds relationships with marine partners
  • Coordinates with customers to facilitate barge deliveries
  • Arrange cargo inspector nomination, sampling, and testing
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years in marine petroleum logistics and/or marine operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry products and services is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling customer accounts and orders.
  • Knowledge of USCG regulations
