Job Summary:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a team of drivers. They will provide daily direction and clear expectations for the crew to optimize performance and efficiency. The role will be instrumental in ensuring each employee is trained according to established policies, procedures, and regulations. They will lead by example in occasionally performing all fueling and operational duties while holding employees accountable for compliance.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the operations team by aligning with the company values.
  • Verify continual compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ensure inspections are completed and submitted per process in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the hiring process for applicable roles.
  • Promote a team that delivers a high level of customer service every time.
  • Professionally answer customer calls to coordinate deliveries and resolve concerns.
  • Assist in general office tasks with support from customer service team.
  • Understand and direct the team in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
  • Plan well in advance to efficiently manage personnel and equipment resources.
  • Perform frequent one-on-one check-ins with direct reports to listen to and offer constructive performance feedback.
  • Mentor, encourage, and motivate the crew.
  • Frequently take hands-on approach to training and review of procedures with the team.
  • Lead daily safety discussions and ensure all safety resources are utilized to foster a team that embodies our safety culture.
  • Hold team members accountable for their actions in a timely manner.
  • Manage, review, and approve employee timecards & expenses aligning with business expectations.
  • Strive to continually improve the operation by identifying opportunities and proposing solutions.
  • Ensure work areas and equipment are kept clean, organized and in good working condition.
  • Exercise responsible use of company funds to appropriately manage cost.
  • Promptly report all injuries and incidents.
  • Perform minor maintenance as qualified to do so and coordinate with mechanic/technician as needed.
  • Serve as lead PIC in event of an incident, unless instructed otherwise.
  • Coordinate and execute resupply activities.
  • Delegate duties and responsibilities to the team as appropriate.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; and at least 3 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates/Licenses:
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Forklift Certificate can be acquired after hire.
  • Drug and Alcohol Training for Supervisors.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Hazmat and Hazwoper can be acquired after hire.
