JOB SUMMARYRepairs and maintains all components on a chassis which includes mechanical, welding and fabrication.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-Brake repair and replacement (S-Cam Air Brakes)-Rebuilds and/or repairs axles and suspensions.-Replaces and repairs landing gear.-Inspects to ensure everything meets DOT ABS.-Works on the cosmetics of the unit.-Repairs and/or replaces air valves and brake chambers.-Repairs and/or replaces lights.-Repairs the ABS System.-Welds, flame straightens and fabricates structural steel components. -Drives jockey trucks and fork lifts.-Performs all other assigned duties.MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION:    High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE:    One year working with S-Cam Air BrakesLICENSE:    Must have or achieve OSHA jockey truck certification.Must have: Certificate of Training for ABS brake systems, Certificate of S-Cam foundation brakes, and OSHA commercial tire training. Must be able to operate and certify on 15,000 lb. and 30,000 lb. fork lift.Must meet one of the DOT conditions that qualifies as a brake inspector.TRAVEL:    N/A PHYSICAL:    Operations - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld.  Ability to frequently twist, bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb on equipment, push/pull 50 pounds, crawl, lift and carry at least 80 pounds on a daily basis.  Able to withstand constant exposure to extreme weather conditions. Must work in a very noisy environment.Must work in a dirty environment requiring the occasional use of respirators.  Must work in a hot environment while using welders and torches.LANGUAGE:    English
