JOB SUMMARY
Performs preventative maintenance on support and freight moving equipment as well as repairs to same.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs preventative maintenance on all 1. Fleet Equipment.
2. Performs major and minor repairs to Fleet Equipment as needed.
3. Troubleshoots electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical failures on equipment as required.
4. Researches parts needed for repairs on equipment by using parts manuals and supply books.
5. Rebuilds engines, transmissions and their components as necessary.
6. Makes service calls to various Tropical departments both domestic and international to facilitate
equipment repairs as required.
7. Remains on standby duty whenever a ship is being loaded after hours and on weekends. Fuels
equipment in the absence of the Fueler.
8. Fills out work orders after every job. Orders parts required to conduct repair and maintenance and
follow-up. Coordinates with the effected departments equipment repairs and services.
9. Makes quality fabrications as needed.
10. Keeps work area clean.
11. Participates in training seminars and work shops when necessary.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma and vocational technological graduate with
certificate in Equipment maintenance and repair
EXPERIENCE: Five years experience in heavy equipment repair, maintenance and
operation.
LICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License – Commercial Class B with HAZMAT and
Tanker endorsement and Valid Passport. Certificates in Hydraulics,
pneumatics, electrical and mechanical.
TRAVEL: 10% Travel to both domestic and international Tropical locations.
PHYSICAL: Operations – Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on
computer or handheld. Ability to frequently twist, bend, reach, squat,
kneel, climb on equipment, push/pull 50 pounds, crawl, lift and carry at
least 80 pounds on a daily basis. Able to withstand constant exposure to
extreme weather conditions. Ability to travel in various modes of
transportation (e.g. automobile, airplane, train etc.) Occasionally
exposed to outside elements during the course of traveling.
