Who are you?

You’re passionate about corporate accounting and know how to make systems run more deftly and effectively. You’re a communicator who can act both on the professional scale expected of a multinational corporation, and in a smaller, less formal environment. You’re enthusiastic, taking the initiative with a continuous improvement mindset while engaging those around you. Simply put, you keep your eyes on the details and your mind on the big picture.

As a Senior Accountant at Saltchuk, you’ll focus on the critical accounting jobs that keep our company running smoothly.  The job requires you to help prepare routine financial reporting like forecasts and actuals, consolidated financial documents, EBIT, EBITDA, cash flow forecasts, and quarterly reports. It also includes performing month-end close activities for the corporate home and for Saltchuk’s consolidated accounting records.  You will assist in supporting our external audit, getting the right information to auditors.   You’ll provide a helping hand to build our Annual Plan, guiding department heads and collaborate with other Finance team members to complete the plan and fulfill reporting requirements. You will also reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and craft new reconciliations as needed.   As you identify them, you will recommend and implement improvements in execution for the corporate home office’s accounting operations.  You’ll originate systems reports, to make data accumulation and reporting more efficient. You will be called on to lead as a key player in implementing new accounting standards and researching/documenting key accounting matters for Saltchuk and its subsidiaries.
