Description
The ASI Airframe & Powerplant Technician will have experience in all aspects of work that are performed by the Repair Station. The Technician will be under direct supervision of FAA certificated personnel to include Leads, Inspectors and Managers while performing work. The Technician will be knowledgeable with Federal Aviation Regulations to include but not exclusive to Part 145, 43, 65, 91, 135 and 121. The Technician will work in the accessory shop, the avionics shop, assist with avionics installations and assist with aircraft troubleshooting. The Technician will become an integral part of the repair station team to assist in achieving all repair station goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to work closely with a group of technicians to achieve deadlines for customer related repairs and installations.
- Safely perform work on components that can be very dirty.
- Able to accept and follow instructions and training from Leads, Inspectors, Supervisors and Managers.
- Abide by all FAA and company policies and procedures.
- Understand “Safety First” is vital to repair station operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders and necessary documentation for each job performed.
- Ensure personal OJT records are maintained in a timely manner for each new task/job learned.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail for each task or job performed.
- Proficient using technical data, manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics for all work performed.
- Able to use and work with hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, wire marking machine, media blast machine, solvent cleaning machines and tanks, pressure testing equipment, multimeters and avionics ramp test equipment.
- Willing to fabricate wire harnesses and perform installations of these harnesses.
- Ensure company tools and equipment are maintained in serviceable standard and report any non-serviceable items to the manager or inspector.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Leads, Inspectors, Supervisors or Managers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- No felony convictions in the past 10 years to be able to pass a security background check.
- Must be a high school graduate or have a General Education Degree (GED).
- Airframe & Powerplant License preferred, Airframe License acceptable.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT/FAA drug test.
- Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work various days and shifts when necessary to meet customer requirements
- Maintain a positive customer service attitude.
- Maintain a good attitude and the desire to learn.
- Maintain an orderly work area.
- Must have ability to work in a team, take directions and be flexible.
