Job Summary
Hawaii Petroleum is seeking an Account Manager to join our Wholesale Department. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for the continuous maintenance and support of accounts within the Hawaii Petroleum network. This includes managing and strengthening relationships with existing clients, as well as identifying, sourcing, and securing new customers throughout your assigned region.
By leveraging both your existing professional relationships and newly developed networks, you will drive growth and deliver exceptional service to wholesale product customers across a variety of industries. This is a highly client‑focused role in which relationship building, proactive account management, and long‑term partnership development are essential to success.

What You Will Do
- Work with the company’s wholesale team including Account Management, Operations leadership and Customer Service to develop and implement strategies that deliver excellent customer experiences.
- Where necessary, troubleshoot varying issues within the organization to ensure the company remain at the forefront of leading business levels.
- Remain active within the local markets to ensure competitiveness as well as on a larger scale to ensure the organization is up to date with industry events.
- Understand and communicate pricing fundamentals and services offered by the company and any local competition.
- Engage in and follow safety procedures and protocols set by the company and any client or vendor at all times.
- Remain up to date on internal pricing and services ensuring proprietary information remains confidential wherever necessary.
- Be able to work a Full-Time work schedule predominantly through business/industry hours with occasional flexibility when needed.
- Attend and acknowledge all required company trainings and meetings including complying with the company’s Rules of Conduct, policies and procedures.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education, Experience and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must be able to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve goals, including ensuring that our clients consistently receive the highest level of service. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who is professional, personable, and able to build and maintain strong business relationships. Familiarity with the petroleum industry is preferred.
Success in this role also requires the ability to cultivate new client relationships through cold calling and outreach, as well as leveraging professional networks to support and enhance the company’s reputation, products, and services.
- Seeking Candidates 18 years of age or older
- An associate’s degree in Sales and Marketing or a related business field is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of relevant Sales and Marketing experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A strong understanding of industry demands, including knowledge of mechanical needs such as fleet diagnosis, is strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with prospective and current clients, as well as internal colleagues, are required.
- Ability to analyze data, problem‑solve independently, and work efficiently toward goals.
- Proficient computer skills and the ability to operate a variety of applications including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and CRM (Customer Resource Management) software.
- Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced, evolving work environment and build relationships with multiple stakeholders at various organizational levels is essential.
- Strong project management skills, with the capability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent presentation and client‑hosting skills, with the ability to engage and inspire participants from diverse backgrounds, are necessary.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Type 3 Driver’s License is required, along with reliable, business‑appropriate transportation for work purposes, including client visits.
