JOB SUMMARY Develops profitable new business by initiating both verbal and written contacts with infrequent and first time customers, service and increase current customer base, develop and transition accounts to Outside Sales. Researches and follows-up on sales leads. Analyzes the market needs and makes pricing recommendations and sales presentations as needed. Prepares rate quotes, reports and updates the SFA/CRM system. Requires selling skills to enhance the customer’s supply chain effectiveness with convenient and reliable transportation solutions.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInitiates contacts with new or infrequent customers by phone calls, letters and cards for the purpose of soliciting new or additional business.Researches information, creates and follows-up on sales calls, sales leads, sales visits, rate quotations, letters, contracts, special arrangements, customer complaints and past due accounts. Updates customer profile in sales automation system.Quotes rates from all tariffs.Prepares and researches customer accounts for historical patterns and activities using competitive tariffs, JOC reports, and market research and analysis. Also secures data from customers and any available resource.Actively participates in required Sales Training Program, comprehending sales and marketing theory, demonstrating the application of sales techniques in the field.Performs on-site sales visits in order to solicit new accounts and maintain existing accounts.Develops and implements special projects designed to provide enhancement to current service and offerings.Performs all other duties as requested.EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing or in a related fieldEXPERIENCE: Two year experience in phone sales or one year experience in the field as a Sales Representative.LICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License and Valid Passport.TRAVEL: 5% Travel to other Tropical locations.PHYSICAL: Office Environment – Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer. Ability to bend or stoop to retrieve lower shelf files. Ability to reach overhead to retrieve upper shelf files. ability to sit 1/3 – 2/3 of day. Ability to travel in various modes of transportation (e.g. automobile, airplane, train etc..) Occasionally exposed to outside elements during the course of traveling.LANGUAGE: English
