Job Summary

The Lead Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of fuel, oil, glycol, and packaged products to customer locations. This role involves managing and dispatching other rotational drivers as needed and providing coverage support for site managers. The Delivery Driver also performs terminal operator duties, such as month-end reporting, tank gauging, and inspections. Additionally, the Delivery Driver operates delivery trucks, tank trailers or pups, and delivers full drums and totes to customers. Warehouse duties, spill drills, and DOT regulation compliance are also part of this role.

Roles and Responsibilities

    Manages and dispatches other rotational drivers based on company needs.

    Provides coverage support for site managers based on company needs.

    Performs terminal operator duties, including month-end reporting, tank gauging, and inspections.

    Operates delivery trucks, tank trailers or pups to deliver fuel, oil, and packaged products to customers.

    Delivers full drums and totes to customer locations, utilizing a manual pallet jack and rolling individual drums.

    Delivers fuel and bulk lubes to vessels, both CG regulated and non-regulated.

    Performs new customer tank surveys to ensure safe access and filling procedures.

    Offloads packaged products from the truck into customer stores or warehouses.

    Maintains accurate records of all delivery documents to ensure proper documentation.

    Clean the truck and the facility as needed to maintain a professional appearance.

    Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintains DOT logbook/E-Logs, and follows DOT regulations for safe driving.

    Performs warehouse duties, including picking orders, driving forklifts, repacking bulk lubes and greases, data entry, and organizing delivery runs.

    Schedules fleet maintenance and repair, along with annual cargo tank inspections, to ensure vehicle safety.

    Performs spill drills and trains other drivers and terminal operators for emergency preparedness.

    Participates in safety meetings, promptly reports injuries, spills, and property damage, and identifies and communicates job hazards.

Education and Experience

    High school diploma or GED is required.

    Two years of commercial driving experience or a combination of education and experience is preferred.

    Valid Alaska Class B CDL with X endorsement, Class A preferred.

    TWIC, Hazmat and Hazwoper can be acquired after hire.

    Medical Examiner’s Certificate.

    Forklift Certificate can be acquired after hire.
