Description

This position will handle the daily parts ordering, stock orders and determine shipping timeline, quantity needed, stocking shelves and overall day-to-day parts tasks associated in a heavy-duty truck and trailer shop.

Essential DUTIES

  • Operate safely and compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
  • Generate purchase orders for part ordering
  • Research, request and order parts needed for specific job(s)
  • Receive and check-in inventory to reconcile product ordered versus product received
  • Check invoice against quote received for parts ordered
  • Maintain, organize, and stock parts rooms
  • Issue parts to shop personnel upon request
  • Conduct quarterly inventory of parts
  • Ability to pick up and deliver parts and any related DMV document services
  • Will purchase parts for required repairs on Delta Western equipment
  • Assist in the wash bay and help the Shop with other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to two years parts experience in the trucking industry preferred
  • Valid AK driver’s license  

KNOWLEDGE, Skills And Abilities

  • Must be personable and able to communicate effectively to employees and sub-contractors
  • Basic math skills necessary to generate an estimate and maintain maintenance records
  • Data entry and 10-key and intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Treats people with respect; keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, works with integrity and ethically, upholds organizational values
  • Strong customer service with a high level of attention detail and accuracy
  • Good working knowledge of computer related software and search engines
  • Possess excellent communication skills, verbal, written, listening skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work with other departments and organizations and handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee is often exposed to a variety of extreme weather and temperature conditions and fluctuations, such as cold, heat, snow, wind, rain, etc.
