Job Summary:

The Hawaii Regional Gateway Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing small package operations within multiple airports around the Hawaiian Islands. This role involves leading a team of employees, coordinating logistics and transportation activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high service levels for small package handling. The operation is currently scheduled for a late evening to early morning time frame depending on the location. This operation is conducted 7-days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages gateways in region to ensure KPI metrics minimum SLA are being met at each site
  • Communicates with Gateway managers throughout the week on daily operational needs and action items
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure smooth operations and adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including airlines, ground handling agents, customs officials, and transport providers to coordinate and optimize small package logistics. Monitor shipment schedules, resolve issues, and ensure efficient transportation and delivery processes.
  • Continuously assess small package operations and identify areas for improvement. Propose and implement process enhancements, automation, and technology solutions to increase productivity and reduce errors.
  • Compliance with local, state, federal regulations as well company policies and procedures, customer information and security requirements.
  • Communicates directly with customer RGM on any matters involving the sites in their region during operational hours
  • Demonstrates internal and external customer service
  • Reviews KPI Metrics at months end with Airport Operations Manager for any improvement opportunities
  • Track and ensure use of ALV daily on the ramp and daily Standalone Sable updates for the ramp laptops.
  • Direct communication with ramp senior leadership during outside of normal activity events (i.e., injury).
  • Send daily site stats to Key Client Manager
  • Assist Gateway Managers with disciplinary actions.
  • Go over expectations with Gateway Managers
  • Track current staffing levels and pipeline needs
  • Review Contrails reports for each site
  • Review Chime chatrooms during operation hours
  • Ensure supply inventory needs are met
  • Occasionally travel to sites

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Supply chain management, freight logistics, airport operations, or similar experience required
  • Customer service oriented, friendly, helpful, and professional disposition with strong influence leadership skills to work in a fast paced and always changing environment and manage people optimally.
  • Experience with commercial driving and sortation process is desired
  • Excellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills required.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task and work effectively under a minimum level of supervision in a fast-paced environment, strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate a consistent capability of working cooperatively with others in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Moving items over fifty pounds will be done using team lift. Must meet physical lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
