Description
JOB SUMMARY
Supervises employees and company resources in an effective manner for the Traffic Department. Interacts with other departments, outside customers, and government agencies to ensure smooth cargo and documentation flow and maximize satisfaction in a cost effective manner.
-Responsible for managing Traffic personnel in the preparation of accurate and timely documentation for Northbound shipments.
-Anticipates, analyzes and resolves problems with freight movements ensuring highest levels of service are maintained.
-Participates in all northbound and southbound processes and ensures that each are performed in accordance with company, customer and regulatory authority requirements.
-Prepares and processes FCNs and takes corrective action to eliminate cause of errors.
-Develops standards for local Traffic personnel and Traffic functions. Manages the development of personnel through coaching, training classes, work groups and on-the-job training. Conducts p-performance evaluations and recommends changes in salary, job status and duties. Responsible for staff performance management and disciplinary actions.
-Responsible for orientation, cross training and job related training for all assigned traffic personnel.
-Ensures that all customer and voyage files are maintained and updated on a timely basis by assigned personnel.
-Performs all other duties as assigned.
