Summary

JOB SUMMARY Coordinates department activities and monitors daily workflow to facilitate superior service to our customers.  Works with internal and external customers to expedite the handling and release of cargo.  Monitors Customs holds and works closely with Customs Exam Station and US Customs Department.  PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-Monitors daily activities for the Import Department.  Investigates customer issues and coordinates with other departments to achieve resolution.-Acts as liaison with US Customs.  Monitors Customs holds and works with Customs Exam Station and US Customs Department.-Performs the ACE report check for General Order and issued Bonds by department..-Completes vessel Arrival and Departure Check and ACE vessel reconciliation to ensure close out of vessel.-Spot audits the cargo release process.-Assists with operations requirements using the Navis system.-Ensures import manifest and 310 posting for operations discharge of vessel for the Navis N4 system including updates of group codes for discharge and staging of containers.-Manages the overdue report for all FCL and LCL by coordinating with the Import Specialist to ensure resolution.  Finalizes the salvage process.-Manages the detention list to ensure all units are returned back to Tropical Shipping.-Delegates responsibility to team members to provide vacation coverage.-Provides backup support for the Import e-mail mailbox.-Develops and implements procedures to improve Import Services processes and functions.-Acts as liaison between the Import Department and the Trade Support Manager.-Coordinates the resolution of un-manifested cargo at the port for FCL and LCL and reports the service failure to SIRS and the NOB and ACE/ISF compliance failures.-Communicates vessel activities to the Import Department and attends the operations meeting.-Performs all other related duties as requested.  EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: Four years experience in documentation, import processes, logistics, ACE and ISF requirements LICENSE: Valid Local Driver's License and Valid Passport TRAVEL: Limited travel to other Tropical locations
