SUMMARY:     

Directs and coordinates warehouse activities to provide the safe, orderly, and expeditious movement of freight. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.   Performs the following duties personally or through subordinates. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Promotes the safety culture to the department and throughout the company. 

Oversight of all warehouse ground operations including shipping, receiving and customer relations. 

 Standardizes high levels of service to clients. 

Reports irregularities, issues and successes to the Manager. 

Responsible for the administration, supervision and training of all warehouse personnel. 

Provides customer service by means of customer contact including providing general and specific information and resolution of specific and general customer problems.    

Ensures all Federal and State rules and regulations are adhered to. 

Responsible for all customer service and warehouse equipment and supplies. 

Assists Manager with Warehouse budgets. 

Regular attendance is required. 

Other duties may be assigned. 

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Manages lead personnel who are responsible for warehouse employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units. 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training of employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

QUALIFICATONS REQUIREMENTS:

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

 High school diploma or general education degree (GED); four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.  Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, subordinates or other employees, customers and the general public. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages. 

OTHER SKILLS:  

Must be able to manage multiple priorities.  Must have a working knowledge of airfreight operations and services.
