JOB SUMMARYOperates longer combination vehicle (LCV) doubles combination trailers on DOT approved highways from Miami LCL warehouse in Medley Florida to Port of Palm Beach.EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: Five years verifiable experience driving over-the-road equipment, and two years verifiable experience working LTL freight.LICENSE: ICC and DOT certification and DOT physical. Valid Local Driver’s License. Class A, CDL with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements.TRAVEL: 100% Travel to local Tropical locations.Ability to climb in and out of truck and drive for extended periods of time. Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of pressure to turn crank lever. Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld devices. Ability to frequently twist, bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb on equipment, push/pull 50 pounds, crawl, lift and carry at least 80 pounds on a daily basis, Ability to withstand exposure to extreme weather conditions.English required.
JOB SUMMARY Inspects and receives cargo to protect the interest of Tropical and its customers. Verifies that cargo meets Tropical’s minimum requirements for cargo acceptance. Notifies supervisor / crew leader for problem resolution when cargo does not meet Tropical requirements. Measures and documents the shipment’s size, type and characteristics along with complete written record of any discrepancies. Applies proper Tropical labels according to cargo marks and paperwork and enters correct data in the warehouse management system, preparing cargo for putaway. Operates a forklift as part of the receiving, stripping, or putaway processes. Puts away cargo in the proper location and documents that transaction properly in the warehouse management system.JOB SCOPENo supervisory or budgetary responsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInspects cargo to ensure that cargo meets the Tropical receiving guidelines for acceptance.Receives cargo by :a. Verifying and documenting the count.b. Ensuring that cargo matches description on the carrier’s freight billc. Verifying and documenting cargo condition.d. Properly noting exceptions (discrepancies) on the delivery agent’s paperwork.e. Checks for proper hazardous material documents.f. Signs the delivery receipt, and accepts cargo in accordance with the receiving process.Measures cargo and enters information into the warehouse management system or on hand tally.Properly, accurately, and legibly, records all other required information on tally or in warehouse management system.Prepares cargo for putaway by verifying paperwork, and placing cargo on pallets.
