Summary

JOB SUMMARY Manages Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality issues for vessel fleet.  Ensures compliance with Flag State, Classification Society, IMO, USCG, and internal and external stake holders requirements to ensure highest levels of performance, operability, and reliability.  Performs vessel audits, analyzes results, implements and follows-up on any required corrective actions.  Manages daily vessel operations, assists with training programs and supports vessel crews. D. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops and manages Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality policies, 1. procedures, andsystems for Tropical fleet in conjunction with corporate policies.2. Interfaces with all levels of ship management to identify and implement best practices into theoperational SMS program, and provides annual updates and improvements within the SMS.3. Stays current on all HSSEQ policies and procedures and insures vessel compliance. Liases withinternal and external company stake holders on HSSE issues.4. Assists with vessel internal and external audits and reporting on HSSEQ related audit issues inconjunction with the Marine Engineering Managers.5. Ensures Tropical Marine Fleet remains compliant with all international and local regulatoryrequirements relating to HSSEQ in areas of operations and assists in developing related training forcrew members.6. Maintains digital (CBT) learning system for crew members.7. Ensures that Tropical maintains all IMO, ISM, ISPS certifications by assisting with annual internal andexternal audits and implements action items.8. Establishes, maintains and reports for KPIs and See It Say It program.9. Ensures all NCRs, environmental events and incidents are documented, investigated and reported asrequired. Determines root causes and implements corrective actions to prevent recurrences.10.Develops and maintains procedures for Job Hazard Analysis and assists with 10. development ofassociated training programs for the fleet.11. Manages day to day operations in support of Captains and crews.12. Performs all other assigned duties.EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Marine Transportation or in a related fieldEXPERIENCE: 3 - 5 years ashore in ship management: health, safety, security, environmental, and quality areas.LICENSE: Valid Local Drivers License and Valid Passport.  TRAVEL: 10% travel to various Tropical locations
