Summary
Description
This position is responsible for performing routine building and property maintenance tasks.
Essential Duties
· Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replace or repair leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, and rebuilding valves)
· Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer or roller to apply paints, stains and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles)
· Reconfigures, installs, positions and remounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks
· Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and to maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools and chemicals
· Ensure building cleanliness including corridors, elevators, stairways, parking lots, warehouse and other work areas
· Maintains inventory of consumables and supplies for the dock and yard
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED
· Two years’ experience in facility maintenance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Basic knowledge and skills in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping)
· Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
· Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills.
· Must be customer service oriented
· Working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel
· Ability to work independently
