Job Summary
The Deli Clerk is responsible for preparing, packaging, and serving fresh food items while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced gas station and convenience store environment. This position ensures food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards are maintained while assisting customers with deli purchases and promoting a positive shopping experience. The Deli Clerk also supports store operations by stocking products, maintaining inventory, and keeping the deli area clean and organized. This position is located in North Lewiston.
What You’ll Do
- Greet and assist customers in a positive and professional manner as they enter the store and throughout their visit.
- Prepare, handle, and serve food in a clean, sanitary and safe manner and according to quality standards.
- Ensure proper food storage and discard procedures are followed according to company standards.
- Assist with inventory stocking, organization and rotation.
- Cleaning, maintenance and general upkeep of the store floor and deli area.
- Operate and maintain all company equipment and report workplace hazards, injuries and incidents to store leadership in a timely fashion.
- Promote company sponsored incentives, promotions and Reward Programs.
- Assist customers with inquiries and effectively resolve any issues that may arise.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Skills & Experience
- Seeking candidates 16 years of age or older.
- Previous food handling experience is preferred.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, enthusiasm for acquiring new skills, have effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds to a height of at least 4 feet with or without reasonable accommodation and stand for prolonged periods of time throughout the day.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record including being available for shifts throughout the store operating hours.
