JOB SUMMARY
Coordinates and processes all the necessary requirements for importation of freight into the Port of Palm Beach, FL. Function include completing the arrival notification process, providing logistical support, completing the carrier release requirements, invoicing for services provided outside of the scope of the BOL (contract of carriage) and provide customer care support.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Coordinate all relay FCL and LCL as defined by the process. Process includes ensuring that all U.S. Custom holds have been removed prior to re-exportation.
-Prepare and send Arrival Notice to the consignee and/or brokers and provide guidance on U.S. Custom requirements.
-Provides the highest level of service and customer care to inbound customer service calls. Functions include but not limited to quoting, vessel arrival information, cargo availability, clearance requirements, bonded services, General Order, records SIRS incidents, and applicability of tariff rules as they relate to services provided.
-Ensures all U.S. Custom requirements are completed prior to cargo releases.
-Coordinate availability of LCL (less than container load) cargo and receives the waybill, completes the transmittal letter and cargo pickup at the inbound/BI warehouse and the Miami terminal.
-Coordinate with Dispatch, Interchange and Intermodel for FCL. Process includes releasing the container in CATOS to authorizing the unit to be out gated.
-Arranges with Centralized Examination Site (CES) inspections for USDA and U.S. Customs. Assists with the coordination of Fumigation, exportation or destruction of cargo as defined by the –Emergency Action Notification. Process includes billing and collection for the services performed by CES.
-Completes the Carrier Release process in T-link. Collects monies for collect ocean freight and invoices for service provided. Ensures all the appropriate and required documents are received and scanned into T-link
-Completes the General Order requirements as defined by the company policy.
-Coordinates salvage, abandonment and all claims requirements as defined by the company policy.
-Actively involved in the process improvement plan for import functions and department requirements.
-Performs all other related duties as requested.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in traffic documentation, customer service or export brokerage
LICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License and Valid Passport
TRAVEL: Limited travel to other Tropical Shipping locations to train personnel on Import processes
