Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Government Services, the Logistics Management Specialist will be responsible for delivering tailored communications to our clients and cultivating strong relationships with both customers and service providers, your primary focus will be on meeting the diverse needs of our clients and ensuring exceptional service quality on a consistent basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research, analyze, probe, and track the market to identify and report on business expansion opportunities within client operations.
  • Coordinate delivery services to fulfil customer requirements on a regular and ongoing basis.
  • Regularly source, interview, and contract drivers, through selection guidelines and processes, ensuring sufficient pipeline.
  • Secure the customer required documentation for all modes of transportation as specific to each job.
  • Analyze rate/routing options supporting sales
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in freight forwarding or 3PL services
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Problem solving proficiency
  • Moderately proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Import/Export Air and Ocean transportation knowledge
  • US Government logistics pricing experience
  • Experience working with asset carriers directly or through vendor management
  • IATA/IMDG/CFR dangerous goods training
  • ITAR/EAR import/export experience
  • Prior experience managing large scale projects
  • US Government contracts knowledge
  • US Government Customs Brokerage knowledge is a plus
  • Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable knowledge
  • TMS (Transportation Management System) experience
  • Experience with USTRANSCOM contracts (IHAT, DAT, CATA, Multimodal, Global Heavyweight Services, Multimodal)
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a US Government security clearance background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting and carrying 25 pounds; Developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers.
  • Intermittent standing, walking, and sitting for long periods of time; Some bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; Able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain)

Working Conditions:

  • Office, Warehouse environment, remote and in-person, interior and exterior settings, intermittent noise, travel.
