Port Mechanic II – Container Repair Welder

Job SummaryAssists with various maintenance responsibilities.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesN/ABudgetary ResponsibilitiesN/AJob ScopeNo supervisory or budgetary responsibilitiesPrincipal Duties and ResponsibilitiesContainer / Chassis / Tire Maintenance  – Welds, flame straightens and fabricates steel, stainless steel, aluminum(T-Floor), frame squaring. – Install foaming in refrigerated container one wall panel. – Operates shop equipment: shears, brakes, etc. – Replaces and/or repairs wooden floors. – Repairs mechanical components. – Repair/replace dry container corner post, header, rail, roof, cross member and tunnel sections. – Brake repair and replacement (S-Cam Air Brakes). – Rebuilds and/or repairs axles and suspensions. – Advanced frame straightening and fabrications. Repairs and/or replaces air valves and brake chambers. – Repairs and/or replaces lights. Inspects and repairs of the DOT ABS System. – Performs Commercial Tire Service (CTS) 300 level  Education (Minimum)High School Diploma or equivalentExperience (custom)All Areas: – Must have 2 years experience – Must be able to operate and certify on 5K and 30K lb. forklifts and Jockey Trucks – ?Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport Container Maintenance – ?Must be able to pass an ABS welding test. – ?Must have experience using fabrication equipment: ironworks, brake presses and hydraulic sheet metal shears Chassis Maintenance – ?Working with S-cam Air Brakes preferred.LicenseAll Areas: – Valid local driver’s license – ?Must be able to operate and certify on 5K & 30K forklifts – ?Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport  Container/Chassis Maintenance – ?Must have or achieve Certificate of Training for ABS brake systems, Certificate of S-Cam foundation brakes, and OSHA commercial tire training and Commercial Tire Service (CTS) 300 level. – ?Must meet one of the DOT conditions that qualifies as a brake inspector. – Must have or achieve OSHA jockey truck certification.Travel10% local travel to domestic Tropical locations.PhysicalOperations – Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld. JOB SUMMARY Pulls serviced refrigeration equipment to ready area to provide room at pre-trip lines. Stages gen-set chassis in the port and pulls decked out boxes from the port to the pre-trip lines. Keeps reefer yard open for additional arriving reefers to service. Operates reach stacker and heavy lift fork-lifts to mount and dismount containers. Moves damaged containers to shop for repair. Fuels and check fluids of the Tropical equipment. Import Specialist

JOB SUMMARY Coordinates and processes all the necessary requirements for importation of freight into the Port of Palm Beach, FL. Function include completing the arrival notification process, providing logistical support, completing  the carrier release requirements, invoicing for services provided outside of the scope of the BOL (contract of carriage) and provide customer care support.EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: Three years experience in traffic documentation, customer service or export brokerageLICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License and Valid PassportTRAVEL: Limited travel to other Tropical Shipping locations to train personnel on Import processes

Vessel Planner

JOB SUMMARY Coordinate and manage all vessel stowage company wide by service string on current and future voyages based on cargo and empty equipment requirements by utilizing equipment information and load lists from pertinent computer software systems and port personnel. Manage and communicate vessel movements with all pertinent parties.  Assist in planning all labor, freight handling equipment, and materials necessary for terminal and stevedoring operations to meet vessel schedule commitments. Ensure Dangerous Cargo Manifests are created, updated, and distributed to all vessels as required. Confirm appropriate government documentation is submitted for all port entries. Ensure all ports and ships receive proper EDI files for vessel stowage and operations. Perform operational follow-up and correcting terminal and vessel plans where needed. Manage integration of EDI capabilities into T-Link.  Maintain management of Powerstow vessel stowage software.EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Transportation or in a related fieldEXPERIENCE: Three years experience in vessel stowage or vessel terminal operations in a maritime shipping business.LICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License.  Valid Passport.  Active U.S.C.G. Deck License.TRAVEL: 5% Travel to both domestic and international Tropical Shipping locations.
