Job Summary
As the Price Book Coordinator, you act as a central point for managing pricing information, ensuring consistency and accuracy within our inventory systems to support our retail teams in their price-related activities. Updating and maintaining our price book records routinely means you are involved in ensuring all pricing and related information for any products sold in our retail outlets remain correct and up to date on a routine basis.
The Price Book Coordinator maintains constant collaboration with other related team members regarding cost and sale prices of inventoried products. The role also requires continuous coordination with retail leadership on store front pricing and labelling as well as monitoring of daily cost changes from vendors and suppliers.
To be successful in this position, you must be organized, self-motivated, detail oriented and possess a key understanding of the importance of accurate data. This must be possible as an individual or as part of a team.
We require someone with a professional understanding and ability to conduct work utilizing all methods of technology and innovation using systems such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint and other accounting specific programs.
With the ability to present data and information to department colleagues as well as other team members, a high level of attention to detail is needed to ensure accuracy with pricing and product data.
What You Will Do
- Update and maintain pricing and product information in the company’s price book system daily.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal colleagues/departments to verify and reconcile price changes and product data.
- Assist in the setting up of new inventory items, including categorization, pricing, and vendor assignment.
- Track and report on price fluctuations, margin changes, promotional effectiveness and troubleshoot discrepancies providing timely resolutions.
- Support special projects involving price updates, store resets/changes, or system migrations.
- Interact with all levels within the Company to communicate any related financial information clearly and have skills in the areas of synthesizing and processing data with an attention to detail.
- Maintain open communication with leadership to ensure management are informed of area activities or potential/actual problems.
- Participate in company required training sessions and comply with all company rules of conduct, policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Qualified absences related to the State and Federal Family Medical Leave Act must be reported to Human Resources.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Candidate must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or equivalent as a minimum.
- Professional level skills in operating computer-based systems such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Accounting specific software and inventory/POS systems (e.g. PDI-Enterprise, Blue Yonder etc.)
- A professional level of arithmetic computation is needed with experience in retail, data entry, merchandising, or inventory coordination strongly desired.
- Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions from colleagues, supervisors and via electronic platform if required.
- Knowledge of retail pricing strategies and margin analysis including the ability to analyze relevant data and information to independently and in a group setting, problem solve and work efficiently towards goals.
- Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to interact with colleagues in a professional manner is required.
- Having the ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast paced and evolving work environment is strongly required.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously is a basic requirement for this role.
