TOTE Maritime Puerto Rico, a leader in safe and reliable service to Puerto Rico, is seeking a Pricing Analyst to join the team at our Jacksonville, FL office.

 

In this position you will:

be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the enterprise strategies, policies, and initiatives to ensure long-term performance, sustainability, and profitability of the organization

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure the corporate goal of maximization of yield on all cargoes while supporting the revenue goals established in the business plan 
  • Provide analysis and recommendations designed to assist the organization meet its annual business plan as well as long-term objectives
  • Produce yield reports on volumes, costs, contribution levels and contract status to monitor performance
  • Provide market research, competitive market intelligence, and pricing recommendations
  • Analyze Market Segment reports
  • Identify potential growth opportunities that support strategic goals
  • Maintain a comprehensive awareness of current rate levels, pricing fluctuations in the market, internal cost structures (including preferred inland arrangements) and the value of services offered to the marketplace in order to maximize yield
  • Monitor competitive pricing activity
  • Coordinate activities related to TSA negotiations
  • Develop, monitor, and update all Assessorial Exceptions, Free Time, Volume Incentives and Discounts
  • Provide quality support to internal and external customers
  • Provide special and ad hoc reporting as required
  • Participate in customer sales calls as required
  • Promote TOTE’s value and innovative transportation solutions in a professional manner
  • Update and maintain internal databases to reflect contract rate changes in a timely and accurate 
  • manner
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies regulating government contracts and anti-trust awareness
  • Be knowledgeable on all government rules/regulations regarding tariffs/contracts
  • Maintain accurate records of all agreements in accordance with the record retention policy
  • Provide support for the tariff management and quotation system process
  • Monitor the quotes mailbox and voicemail for incoming requests
  • Respond to incoming inquiries in an accurate and timely manner
  • Audit quotes, as necessary, to ensure accuracy prior to filing
  • Follow-up on quotes, as required
  • Be knowledgeable with all aspects of special handling requirements
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all other departments
  • Perform training sessions as required
  • Perform updates to company intranet regarding trade notifications and coordinate the posting of same on the external website
  • Consistently demonstrate the competencies required for an individual contributor within the organization
  • Support and promote safe, productive, and ethical behavior throughout the organization

 

 

The ideal candidate will have:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience required

Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the shipping industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications; Access Database and Tariff experience is preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and write general business reports, correspondence and standard operating procedures
  • Must possess strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with an entrepreneurial state of mind
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language fluency a plus
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
