JOB SUMMARY The Loss Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling marine cargo insurance claims. This role involves assessing the cause and extent of loss or damage to goods in transit, determining liability, and ensuring fair and timely resolution of claims in accordance with policy terms.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigates cargo claims involving damage or loss during transport by sea, air, or land.Gathers and analyzes relevant documentation, including shipping records, bills of lading, inspection reports, and photographs.Investigates incidents thoroughly, analyzes physical evidence, and determines the root causes of loss.Conducts interviews with clients, carriers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to determine cause and liability.Documents damage, losses, and costs involved meticulously.Prepares detailed claim reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations.Negotiates settlements in a fair and cost-effective manner.Collaborates with legal, underwriting, and risk management teams as needed.Maintains accurate and up-to-date claim files and records.Ensures compliance with company policies, insurance regulations, and international shipping laws.Provides expert advice to clients on loss prevention and risk mitigation strategies.Analyzes and prepares claim statistics for loss reporting and to determine underwriting profitability.Maintains good relationships with clients, explains complex technical details in a way that is understandable.Handles multiple cases simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and ensure that claims are processed in a timely manner. Manages multiple tasks and deadlines effectively Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel).EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Business Administration or in a related fieldEXPERIENCE: One year experience in the insurance and/or transportation industry.LICENSE: 6-20 Accredited Claims Adjuster License.  Valid Local Driver's License.  Valid PassportTRAVEL: 10% Travel to other Tropical locations.
