JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

Responsible for the LNG Barge component of an ATB LNG Bunker Vessel including the storage, transfer, and conditioning of LNG. Essential functions include but are not limited to leading LNG Bunkering and Loading operations, ensuring reliable operations of the LNG Vessel and all systems and working with a team of mariners under the command of the ATB Captain. The vessel operates on the east coast of Florida with a 21-day rotation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of liquefied natural gas products between barges, ships, and facilities including completion and accountability of barge logs, bills of lading and gauge reports.
  • Conducts LNG tank barge loading and discharges.
  • Conducts routine maintenance and inspection of LNG Tank Barge Equipment
  • Monitor product level in tanks in relationship to pressure control and temperature monitoring, operate diesel engines, electric and compressor motors, operate cargo pumps, operate cryogenic tank/pipeline valves, and operate manual and hydraulic booms.
  • Communicate professionally with all vessel crews and LNG facility personnel.
  • Attends to lines and anchors, putting out running and mooring lights, and pumping out bilge water
  • Act as lookout
  • Maintain and lead maintenance plan for LNG Vessel
  • Work with ATB team and perform work at discretion of captain.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of liquefied natural gas products between barges, ships, and facilities including completion and accountability of barge logs, bills of lading and gauge reports.
  • Conducts LNG tank barge loading and discharges.
  • Conducts routine maintenance and inspection of LNG Tank Barge Equipment.
  • Monitor product level in tanks in relationship to pressure control and temperature monitoring, operate diesel engines, electric and compressor motors, operate cargo pumps, operate cryogenic tank/pipeline valves, and operate manual and hydraulic booms.
  • Communicate professionally with all vessel crews and oil facility personnel.
  • Adjust and secure barge lines and anchors, putting out running and mooring lights, pumping out bilge water.
  • Complete loading and discharge gauge reports.
  • Inspect vessel for Coast Guard, state and company regulatory compliance.
  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
  • Conducts effective turnover of operations and equipment monitoring to teammates.
  • Assist with development and updates of operations manuals.
  • Ensure vessel in compliance with company and regulatory maintenance requirements and coordinate with manager to supervise third party vendors for non-routine maintenance.
  • Maintain onboard inventory of spares and consumables for required maintenance.
  • Seamanship expected of an Able Body seafarer.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a Valid Merchant Mariner Certificate (MMC) with AB Limited – AB Unlimited preferred
  • Must have STCW, SA, RFPNW. VPDSD preferred.
  • Must have Tankerman PIC DL or Tankerman PIC (Barge) DL. Tankerman PIC LG or Tankerman PIC (Barge) LG highly preferred.
  • Must have a valid National and STCW Medical Certificate.
  • Must have TWIC
  • At least five years of experience in the tank-barge/tanker-field, or similar experience. 7 years if no LNG experience
  • Previous PIC experience as a tank barge operator on DL or Liquefied Gases vessels / barges required.
