Must be available to work 40 hours per week during the summer and 15–20 hours per week during the academic year, with the possibility of a 12-month internship

Job Summary
Assists the Accounting Manager (and Controller) in the execution of the organization’s accounting functions. Performs basic transactional and reconciliation accounting functions related to the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Prepare and post journal entries and process invoices.
- Compile data to record transactions and prepare reports, reviewing and verifying for accuracy.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and work with accounting systems as assigned.
- Assist with monthly reporting and preparation of month-end close.
- Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- In the process of completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting
- Has completed introductory accounting courses and has a basic understanding of financial principles
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Excel, and Effective written and verbal communication skills
- A standout colleague and motivated to learn
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to work without distraction
- Attention to detail and a high sense of motivation to prevent errors
- General understanding of US GAAP and accounting concepts
