Job Summary

The position is primarily responsible for establishing the policies and guidelines for pricing of transportation services and associated tariffs and contractual rates.


Essential Duties

  • Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures
  • Engages in competitive intelligence, collects and analyzes information on market trends and conditions, gauges anticipated demand, and uses the information to develop competitive pricing strategies and guidelines
  • Develops models in relation to current market conditions, available finances, and established overhead
  • Balances customer needs and values with expected demand to maximize revenue, market share, or profit margin
  • Engages with other departments; operations, logistics, rating and billing to ensure efficient and accurate sharing of information
  • Manages communication with sales and marketing to develop effective pricing strategies
  • Responsible for updating existing policies and procedures as part of Continuous Improvement efforts
  • Oversees and manages the productivity of the pricing department staff
  • Ensures proper goals, training, and project requirements are met
  • Mentors and coaches staff for professional development
  • Negotiate with vendors to control, reduce and manage company costs
  • Manage and maintain vendor agreements and contracts
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting or related field is preferred
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in the transportation industry with at least four (4) years in a supervisory role
