JOB SUMMARYPerforms preventative maintenance on support and freight moving equipment as well as repairs to same.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Performs preventative maintenance on all 1. Fleet Equipment.2. Performs major and minor repairs to Fleet Equipment as needed.3. Troubleshoots electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical failures on equipment as required.4. Researches parts needed for repairs on equipment by using parts manuals and supply books.5. Rebuilds engines, transmissions and their components as necessary.6. Makes service calls to various Tropical departments both domestic and international to facilitateequipment repairs as required.7. Remains on standby duty whenever a ship is being loaded after hours and on weekends. Fuelsequipment in the absence of the Fueler.8. Fills out work orders after every job. Orders parts required to conduct repair and maintenance andfollow-up. Coordinates with the effected departments equipment repairs and services.9. Makes quality fabrications as needed.10. Keeps work area clean.11. JOB SUMMARY Repairs and maintains containers which includes cleaning, sweeping, fabricating and repairing all components including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and wood.JOB SCOPENo supervisory or budgetary responsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Welds and fabricates steel.2. Welds and fabricates stainless steel.3. Welds and fabricates aluminum.4. Operates shop equipment; shears, brakes, etc.5. Straightens damaged components.6. Operates forklifts.7. Replaces and/or repairs wooden floors.8. Cleans and paints.9. Repairs mechanical components.10. Performs all other assigned duties.  MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: Must be able to pass ABS welding test.Must have 1 year of welding experience. Must have experience using fabrication equipment such as iron-works, brake presses and hydraulic sheet metal shears. Must be mechanically inclined and able to use various power tools such as saws, riveters, hydraulic rams.LICENSE: Must be able to operate and certify on 5,000 lb. and 30,000 lb. forklift.TRAVEL: N/APHYSICAL: Operations – Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld.
