JOB SUMMARYSupervises all cargo receiving and handling operations in the Miami warehouse. Supervises the operating functions of cargo inspections, warehousing, out-loading, cargo inventory, and weekly productivity reports. Responsible for all warehouse and split requests. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: Three years in cargo inspection, handling, and warehouse operations.LICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License. Valid Passport.TRAVEL: 10% Travel to local Tropical locations within the continental U.S. to coordinate operations or participate in special assignments. Occasional overseas travel to coordinate with various port locations.
JOB SUMMARY Inspects and receives cargo to protect the interest of Tropical and its customers. Verifies that cargo meets Tropical’s minimum requirements for cargo acceptance. Notifies Supervisor / Crew Leader for problem resolution when cargo does not meet Tropical requirements. Measures and documents the shipment’s size, type and characteristics along with complete written record of any discrepancies. Applies proper Tropical labels, according to cargo marks and paperwork, and enters correct data in the warehouse management system, preparing cargo for putaway. Operates a forklift as part of the receiving, stripping, or putaway processes. Puts away cargo in the proper location and documents that transaction properly in the warehouse management system.EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.EXPERIENCE: Six(6) months Tropical warehouse experience.OSHA Certified in forklift operation.LICENSE: Valid State of Florida Drivers LicenseTRAVEL: None

Maintains a professional attitude and relationship with customers, common carriers, U.S. Customs, and U.S.D.A.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-Receives and stows inbound freight with forklift. Completes tallies and labels cargo.-Operates jockey truck to position containers for loading and unloading and to perform door to door switches.-Ensures preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment.-Makes cargo available for U.S. Customs and U.S.D.A. inspections.-Makes cargo available for pick up by consignees and common carriers.-Maintains neatness and cleanliness throughout warehouse and dock area.-Directs the work of temporary personnel, when necessary.-Coordinates transloading of cargo at other receiving areas, when necessary.-Coordinates movement and positioning of containers with Jockey Pool.-Performs all other duties as requested.EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: Six months in warehouse operations.LICENSE: Valid Florida Driver’s License and CDL Class A with hazmat and tanker endorsements.TRAVEL: N/A.
