Measures/reports departmental activities and develops process improvements. Assists in Container/Chassis Maintenance Department preparation of operating and capital budgets with LOA of $15,000 on single expense up to $ 3 Million Total Budget.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrioritizes and schedules work for Container, Chassis and Tire maintenance.  Evaluates equipment repair and maintenance practices.  Gives technical advice and assists in the coordination of repairs.  Coordinates timely, efficient and cost-effective equipment maintenance, repairs and refurbishments to maximize uptime of equipment according to company standards.  Ensures compliance with industry, safety, and environmental regulations.  Evaluates and monitors labor needs, workload, productivity, repair, and maintenance requirements for all container/chassis/tire functions in the Port of Palm Beach and Miami warehouse locations.  Utilizes Maintenance Management System to capture all parts and labor used in maintenance of assets.  Reports KPI's monthly to management.  Provides advice and collaborates on equipment acquisitions and repositioning to meet needs of US and outport operations.  Benchmarks shop and individual performance to established KPI.  Selects, trains and develops subordinate personnel for promotion and advancing in technical and leadership skills.  Performs managerial and supervisory functions including budgeting, performance reviews, salary changes, job status and scheduling.  Negotiates service contracts with service providers.  Ensures compliance with company ethics policy and standards.  Implements departmental policies and changes.  Develops new procedures for company and department personnel regarding container/chassis/tire department and equipment.  Looks for opportunities to improve departmental processes related to equipment preventive maintenance , reliability and availability.  Maintains and keeps track of vendor’s invoicing, codes and submits invoicing to Tropical accounting.  Performs all other duties as assigned.  QualificationsEducation (Minimum)High School Diploma or equivalentExperience (custom)3 years shipping and Container/Chassis/Tire equipment maintenance in a supervisory or lead capacity.LicenseValid local driver’s license and valid Passport.Travel10% Travel to other Tropical Shipping locations.PhysicalOperations - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld devices.
