TOTE Resources is looking for a Director of Compliance & Internal Audit to join the team at our Jacksonville, FL office. 

 

In this position you will:

ensure the company’s adherence to external laws and regulations, as well as evaluate and improve internal controls and processes. This position oversees and performs auditing duties to ensure that the company complies with regulations and policies. The position reports directly to the SVP, General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer who serves as the Company’s Chief Compliance Officer.  

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Directing and executing the company’s overall compliance program.
  • Managing and maintaining corporate compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Overseeing and refining the company’s annual compliance testing and monitoring plans and refining those plans as required in light of evolving regulatory or business requirements.
  • Preparing and implementing a risk-based audit plan to assess, report on, and make suggestions for improving the company’s key operational and finance activities and internal controls. 
  • Identifying and assisting in documenting existing internal finance and disclosure controls, implementing and documenting new internal controls, and establishing an internal monitoring function to audit the company’s compliance with such internal.
  • Working with management to establish an appropriate compliance culture throughout the company.
  • Preparing compliance reporting for the senior management and the company’s Executive Leadership Team.

 

 

 

The ideal candidate will have:

Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Certifications)

  1. BA/BS from undergraduate school with a business or related degree and superior academic accomplishment.
  2. Seven plus years of previous successful business experience which displays a work history of maintaining high ethical standards and personal integrity.
  3. Five or more years of experience at a company working in the internal audit and/or compliance areas described above.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  1. Superior written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the organization.
  2. Excellent judgment and the capacity to make decisions and give advice which demonstrates an understanding of the risk/rewards of each situation.
  3. Practical and creative problem analysis and resolution skills.
  4. Excellent organizational skills and an attention to detail.
  5. Flexibility of style as a member of multi-disciplinary team.
  6. Ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and prioritize work assignments as needed to meet client needs.
  7. A high level of passion, self-motivation and sense of urgency.
