JOB SUMMARY Manages, contracts, schedules, monitors, and prioritizes vendor trucking activities according to booking, vessel departure, and service standards.  Manages driver activities and schedule drivers as appropriate to maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Tropical Shipping policies and rules.  Maintains controls over equipment utilization, customer satisfaction, and adherence to tight time frames.  Updates company systems promptly with pertinent data to ensure accuracy and efficient handling of cargo. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManages the planning of jobs and vendor selection to obtain the best vendor match for customer requirements for hazmat loads, overweight, and over dimensional.  Updates data into Tritium System & updates data when needed. Addresses changes, voyage changes, Act. Also updates T-link to ensure customers are charged.Assigns driver and equipment and confirms with customers via e-mail and or phone. Delivery time, location and equipment type and size.Manages and maintains over twenty equipment pool locations.Monitors several e-mail accounts to verify vendors are ready for next assignment and or issues at location to be addressed.Creates work orders when needed both in T-link and Trinium for repossession moves.Adds assessorial request in system under correct vendor and provide back authorization number for vendor to be paid. Also ensures the accuracy of rates.Communicates with both internal and external customers to coordinate pick-up/ deliveries, adding change of equipment, voyage or time change. Requests out of route miles when needed and adds into system.Rail bills all containers moving on class 1 railroads via their website.Ensures rate to customer is in accurate for proper billing.Complies with all DOT rules and regulations for each state traveled in.Performs all other assigned duties.  EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: One year in transportation or shipping.LICENSE: Valid local driver's licenseTRAVEL: 5% travel to other Tropical locations and vendors as necessary.PHYSICAL: Office Environment - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer.  Ability to bend or stoop to retrieve lower shelf files.  Ability to reach overhead to retrieve upper shelf files.  ability to sit 1/3 - 2/3 of day.  Ability to travel in various modes of transportation (e.g. automobile, airplane, train etc.)  Occasionally exposed to outside elements during the course of traveling.LANGUAGE: English
