Northern Air Maintenance Services (NAMS) is an FAA certified 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska. We are the sole maintenance provider for ConocoPhillips’ fleet of three DHC-8-400 (Q400) aircraft. In addition to maintenance services, NAMS handles ground operations, inventory control, and passenger screening for all flights between Anchorage, Kuparuk and Alpine. With over 70 dedicated employees, we also provide contract maintenance for two DHC-6-300/400 Twin Otters and one CASA 212-300 aircraft based in Alpine, AK.

SUMMARY

The records clerk is primarily responsible for the organization, filing, and auditing of physical and electronic historical aircraft records as well as part information records in accordance with FAA regulations. In addition, the records clerk is responsible for the accurate data entry of those records into our tracking and compliance system (TRAX). Working knowledge of TRAX is preferred but not required.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Recording and reconciling daily flight summary data into the TRAX database.
  2. Auditing of Production and Shop work orders for compliance and accuracy.
  3. Recording the installation and removal of aircraft parts within TRAX.
  4. Routing noted discrepancies in records and work orders to the appropriate department for corrections.
  5. Verification of the accuracy of relevant receiving documentation and the disposition of this documentation for storage.
  6. Maintaining hard-copy files for aircraft records and Repair Station records.
  7. Maintaining and controlling original certifications for all ratable (serialized) and non-ratable (non-serialized) parts.
  8. Entry of compliance statements for Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, Repairs, Alterations, and Special Inspections within TRAX.
  9. Updating the aircraft status report utilizing TRAX planning reports and accomplished maintenance documentation.

 Education/Experience Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. A minimum of two years of experience in related position clerical experience is preferred.
  3. A moderate degree of reasoning, math skills, and language skills are required for this position.
  4. High School levels are sufficient for all areas.

Other Requirements:

  1. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  2. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with coworkers and customers.
  3. Must have a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  4. Requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  5. Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  6. Knowledge of quality control and planning processes is preferred.
  7. Aircraft industry maintenance or records experience is a plus.
  8. Understanding the importance of regulatory requirements.
  9. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, five-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The work is classified as “light” with regard to the physical demands.
  • Lifting/carrying requirements: Heavy boxes weighing 50 pounds, light office supplies, stacks of paper, and computer printouts. Carts may be pushed loaded with supplies.
