Traffic Representative – Barbados

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for shipment verification process from tally receipt until cargo is cleared to load.  Maintains successive customer contact to expedite cargo movement to clear to load status, ensuring appropriate export documents have been received and verified. Coordinates documentation process from the time cargo physically received from shipper until cargo is unstuffed from the container at the final port of discharge warehouse.  Supports Sales Representatives as needed through correspondence, rate quotes and service announcements to customers within the assigned sales territory.  Within Tlink and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), assigns new customers to a sales territory.JOB SCOPENo supervisory or budgetary responsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReviews tally to determine if all documents required to prepare cargo for shipment are received.  Follows up with appropriate parties (shippers, consignees, or freight forwarders)  regarding incomplete documentation to obtain information and process the necessary paperwork required for export shipments.   Contacts customers to resolve any discrepancies identified in shipment verification process.  Makes appropriate changes to the tally and records information regarding changes in appropriate company business systems.  Coordinates any changes in the cargo destination with Operations for restickering of the freight.Maintains up-to-date “Cargo On Hand” report.  Reconciles physical inventory in accordance with report information.  Prioritizes cargo movement efforts based on date cargo received to facilitate expeditious cargo operations.  Reviews rating on larger shipments with the appropriate tariff to ensure the customer receives the most favorable rate less than container load (LCL) vs. full container load (FCL).Completes clear to load (CTL) requirements to expedite cargo movement, making cargo available to the loading department. Properly assembles the Export Shipment Package for processing by the documentation department.Coordinates all day of sail exceptions with receiving and loading departments to minimize disruption to normal work flow.Advises customers of the information Tropical requires to expedite cargo shipments with minimal or no delay.  Researches and resolves issues delaying freight movement. Encourages customers to use Tropical’s eServices platform to upload shippers invoices for shipments.Provides unstuffing notifications to consignees once shipments are unstuffed at warehouse of final Port of discharge. Assists with the preparation of associated shipment local Invoices for LCL shipments when necessary. Inland Operations Coordinator

Cargo Handling Specialist

JOB SUMMARY Inspects and receives cargo to protect the interest of Tropical and its customers.  Receives cargo on the main floor, UPS, Yard and Ramp.  Enters correct data in the warehouse management system, preparing cargo for putaway.  Operates a forklift as part of the receiving, stripping, or putaway processes.  Puts away cargo in the proper location and documents that transaction properly in the warehouse management system.  Attends to customers delivering at the ramp, and in the yard to ensure they are given personal attention and special assistance when needed.  Loads cargo into containers, ensuring shipment integrity (no shortages or errors), blocks and braces shipments to reduce risk of damage.  EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.EXPERIENCE: Twelve (12) months Tropical warehouse experience.OSHA Certified in forklift operationKnows and understands all receiving processes, all areas.LICENSE: Valid State of Florida Drivers LicenseTRAVEL: None
