JOB SUMMARY
Supports the organization’s sales, pricing and financial objectives by analyzing and reporting on Trade pricing activity, evaluating established rates for profitability, maintaining systems that support analysis of pricing activities, training on systems use, reporting of pricing actions, evaluation and filing of tariff rules and performing financial analysis to evaluate the company’s pricing activities.
-Analyzes pricing actions and provide monthly Price Trend Reporting to Executive and Trade Management that highlights factors contributing to pricing fluctuations. Provide customized reports on service contract and tariff rates. Evaluate Journal of Commerce (JOC ) Piers statistics as required to enhance price trend reporting.
-Assists in the development and maintaining Pricing related systems as required. Troubleshoots Pricing systems as requested by the user community. Audit Pricing systems for accuracy. As required, assist in the design, development and testing of existing and or new Pricing systems.
-Performs requested periodic financial analysis on rates and shipments to ensure that the company’s financial objectives are met. Supports the department with requested financial analysis to correlate pricing practices and trends with the company’s pricing objectives.
-Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Yield Management System (YM). Maintains the cost tables for YM including Cost on Line (COL) and the Pricing Actions Database (PAD) cost tables. Provides weekly review of transactions downloaded to YM and updates costs as necessary. Ensures that YM, COL and PAD are updated to current cost information. Development and maintenance of a Voyage Yield Management profile.
-Files new or amended rules in our public and private tariffs or through filing agents. Updates or develops rules in accordance with current business practice in conjunction with Corporate Pricing, Sales and Management including Terminal Operating Tariffs and the Domestic Inland Tariff. Update TRACE and T-Link systems as required to conform to current rules. Processes rule change requests in PAD.
-Provides training support for Pricing related systems. Subject matter expert for PAD, Accurate, ROL and YM. Review training material for subject accuracy.
-Provides reports from ROL, PAD, Accurate and YM. Works with Marketing to provide JOC Piers reports as requested. Administers audits of pricing related activities as requested.
-Performs all other assigned duties.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Finance or Logistics
EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in financial analysis, or transportation or operations.
LICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License and Valid Passport.
TRAVEL: 5% travel to both local and international Tropical port locations.
