Description
JOB SUMMARY
Oversees, schedules, monitors, and prioritizes Vendor trucking activities according to booking, vessel departure, and service standards. Maintains controls over equipment utilization, customer satisfaction, and adherence to tight time frames. Coordinates activities of Dispatchers in scheduling and monitoring trucking activities to maintain efficient operations in line with bookings, vessel schedules, and service standards. Assists with operational issues and ensures that Trinium system is maintained and updated.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees dispatch floor activities and advises team on operational issues.
Monitors emails, screens, and answers phones throughout shift.
Makes changes in scheduling regarding driver reassignments or call-ins.
Coordinates spotting and pickup activities of West Palm Beach and Miami company drivers and vendors.
Interfaces with customer base regarding spotting and pickup of equipment.
Prepares and distributes vendor written daily work schedules via ADS system.
Maintains files regarding booking sheets, drivers, schedules, equipment requirement sheets, etc.
Coordinates equipment usage including container pools, Dade Depot, and spotting and pickup locations.
Rotates and monitors inbound loads and out-of-town runs as required.
Ensures compliance with regulatory bodies such as DOT, ICC, permits.
Validates vendor transportation fees for accounting, including waiting time, extra stops and tariffs..
Reconciles Overdue Equipment Report.
Coordinates input regarding trucking and booking information into T-Link system.
Remains on call 24 hours including weekends.
Provides day of sail pickups to vessel control and dispatch supervisor.
Maintains Caribtrans and terminal load status and provides reports for operational meetings.
Updates Trinium system weekly, including carrier profiles.
Checks and fixes vendor rates which are different from Trinium system.
Attends weekly operations meeting.
Performs all other assigned duties.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in dispatching
LICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License
TRAVEL: N/A
PHYSICAL: Operations – Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld. Ability to frequently twist, bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb on equipment, push/pull 50 pounds, crawl, lift and carry at least 80 pounds on a daily basis. Able to withstand constant exposure to extreme weather conditions.
