JOB SUMMARY Coordinate and manage all vessel stowage company wide by service string on current and future voyages based on cargo and empty equipment requirements by utilizing equipment information and load lists from pertinent computer software systems and port personnel. Manage and communicate vessel movements with all pertinent parties. Assist in planning all labor, freight handling equipment, and materials necessary for terminal and stevedoring operations to meet vessel schedule commitments. Ensure Dangerous Cargo Manifests are created, updated, and distributed to all vessels as required. Confirm appropriate government documentation is submitted for all port entries. Ensure all ports and ships receive proper EDI files for vessel stowage and operations. Perform operational follow-up and correcting terminal and vessel plans where needed. Manage integration of EDI capabilities into T-Link. JOB SUMMARY Inspects and receives cargo to protect the interest of Tropical and its customers. Verifies that cargo meets Tropical’s minimum requirements for cargo acceptance. Notifies supervisor / crew leader for problem resolution when cargo does not meet Tropical requirements. Measures and documents the shipment’s size, type and characteristics along with complete written record of any discrepancies. Applies proper Tropical labels according to cargo marks and paperwork and enters correct data in the warehouse management system, preparing cargo for putaway. Operates a forklift as part of the receiving, stripping, or putaway processes.
