POSITION DESCRIPTION (One paragraph basic position summary)

The Maintenance Controller reports to the Sr. Maintenance Manager and the Line Maintenance Director of Maintenance. The Maintenance Controller is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repair activities at Honolulu and outside stations related to aircraft maintenance. This is a night shift position. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Establish and maintain an environment of trust, mutual respect, courtesy, and opportunities for growth among all employees.

2. Conduct continuous analysis and surveillance of MEL/CDL/Deferral items and maintenance discrepancies for all aircraft in service.

3. Coordinate maintenance activities on aircraft at line stations, outer islands, and ETOPS. Communicate effectively with flight, ground, and maintenance staff, as well as NAC maintenance.

4. Control the use of fly-away kit items and ensure restoration as required.

5. Report and document all maintenance issues on required logs, turnover reports, and applicable notifications.

6. Ensure that all line maintenance staff operate in compliance with applicable maintenance manuals, policy manuals, letters of instructions, etc.

7. Coordinate with maintenance management to ensure planned maintenance is completed according to schedule.

8. Coordinate all unscheduled maintenance actions by assisting or coordinating the troubleshooting and repair of aircraft. Coordinate the movement of personnel, equipment, and/or materials to ensure maintenance is completed in a timely manner.

9. Collaborate with other production and support departments, as required, to accomplish corporate objectives.

10. Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

• High school equivalency and a 4-year degree in a technical/aeronautical field or equivalent work experience required.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a current FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.

• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Five years of air carrier maintenance experience required.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Proficiency with MS Office and TRAX preferred.

• Proficient use of MEL/CDL/deferral manuals.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.

 

COMPENSATION

This position starts at $29.96 per hour + $6.00 A & P license pay + $8.00 position premium
