Are you college student with a passion for problem-solving and a keen interest in the intricacies of legal and claims management? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Saltchuk Marine Shared Services is thrilled to offer a rewarding internship position where you can gain hands-on experience.

Saltchuk Marine Shared Services’ dynamic service-driven team provides a suite of support services including Accounting, Finance, Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), HSQE, and Legal/Risk to Saltchuk Marine operating companies: Foss Maritime, AmNav, Cook Inlet Tug & Barge, and Young Brothers. We enable our sister companies to focus on the important work of keeping ships and cargo moving safely. SMSS is headquartered in Downtown Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood with easy transit access and a breathtaking view of Puget Sound.

This is a Summer 2024 internship.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze from claim records (reading chart notes, etc.) for accuracy and data correction.
  • Review claims management system (Origami) and complete a gap analysis.
  • Review certificates of insurance and update our contract management system.
  • Performs special duties and other projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to all company policies.
  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

Interns must be enrolled in an accredited university program majoring in business or a related field. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Demonstrated interest in areas such as insurance, law, litigation, or dispute resolution. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with a meticulous attention to detail. Ability to run multiple tasks efficiently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
