Summary

JOB SUMMARY Supervises the activities of receive locations.  Ensures all cargo is received and processed in accordance with company policies and procedures.  Maintains and develops productivity measures to support company business objectives.  Provides training and coordinates activities using T-lLnk and N-4 terminal operating system.  Ensures system functionality through audits and work flow checks.JOB SCOPESupervises non exempt employees.  Develops and administers department budgets.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises cargo receiving activities for both import and export and ensures established procedures are followed.  Provides training to department personnel as needed.Works in conjunction with government agencies such as Customs, Agriculture, and USDA to ensure their policies and procedures are followed.Provides performance feedback, documents issues, and administers disciplinary action in concert with Interchange Manager.  Performs annual Performance Reviews. Schedules staff for receiving hours coverage and ensures cargo is received in T-Link and N-4 system per established processes.Maintains and develops department policies and procedures in accordance with Tropical's overall policies and system requirements.  Adjusts and enhances to streamline for receiving  activity and trends.Audits all receiving activities to ensure accuracy and identify issues to be addressed, communicated and corrected in conjunction with Customer Service or Sales areas.Works with operations teams to maintain flow of loads and empties using N-4 and T-Link systems and identifying and reporting any trending issues.Communicates any receiving issues or discrepancies with the appropriate departments for proactive resolution with minimal customer impact and avoidance of any cargo delays.Generates and distributes required reports for productivity, cargo volumes, and measurements of department goals.Provides training for remote locations including dispatch, customer and supplier locations, to ensure safe cargo delivery.Completes non job billing invoices for activities that require service charges to customers for services provided.Works with Operations Department on cargo that must be deck loaded in conjunction with capacities and capabilities to ensure proper handling by all vessels and destination ports..Performs all other related duties as requested.MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: Two years experience in Maritime cargo and vehicle receiving and  handling, customs and import cargo clearance, LICENSE: Valid local driver's license.  Valid Passport.TRAVEL: 5% travel to Tropical locations
