Port Equipment Operator

JOB SUMMARY Pulls serviced refrigeration equipment to ready area to provide room at pre-trip lines. Stages gen-set chassis in the port and pulls decked out boxes from the port to the pre-trip lines. Keeps reefer yard open for additional arriving reefers to service. Operates reach stacker and heavy lift fork-lifts to mount and dismount containers. Moves damaged containers to shop for repair. Fuels and check fluids of the Tropical equipment. Identifies defects of Tropical equipment and reports back to supervisor.  JOB SCOPENo supervisory or budgetary responsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperates jockey truck, fuel truck, fork-lifts, and reach stacker as necessary to supply reefer yard with equipment.Transports ready, needing pre-trip and damaged equipment in and out of reefer yard.Updates computer system of incoming/outgoing equipment.Notifies supervisor of unusual and/or excessive damages or issues/potential problems.Performs daily maintenance check on jockey truck, fuel truck, fork-lift and reach stacker.Maintains clear, effective communication using radio.Fuels equipment as needed and documents usage.Checks and maintains fluids of jockey truck, fuel truck and/or assigned equipment.Reports discrepancies and excessive usage of fuel, coolant, or lubricants.Maintains cleanliness and functionality of fuel truck.Maintains cleanliness of reefer shop and surroundings.Performs all other duties as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: Two years in trucking or shipping operations experience. Port Checker I

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for performing work associated with stevedoring, including checking and recording containers and equipment being loaded or discharged from vessels, and or cargo movement through operation of  forklift.  JOB SCOPENo supervisory or budgetary responsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCommunicates, via radio with appropriate personnel to provide stowage information and receive verification of equipment location and status.  Logs all equipment moves to provide a complete and accurate record.  Records actual placement position of cargo on board vessels during loading.Check container doors, seals and pins prior to transport to ensure freight is moved damage-free.  Places appropriate seal on inbound and outbound containers not having seals and records same with Security presence.  Completes seal discrepancy reports.Checks all empty containers for trash or damage.  Records informatio and identifies and advises equipment operator of interline/foreign empty containers through use of crane team app on handheld computer.Performs shipside support with handling lines and setting gangways.   Assists in the rigging of special lifts, slings and out-of-gauge lifts when required.Drives and operates equipment, machinery, and automobiles into hold or deck of ships.Maintains certification and proficiency in forklift operation.Works in conjunction with the Signal Person and Lead Stevedore to ensure accurate placement of containers and cargo on vessels.Performs all required daily, weekly or monthly safety and maintenance checks on assigned equipment.  This includes checking tire pressure, locking mechanisms as well as ensuring that the vehicle is clean and receives regular preventative maintenance.  Also includes daily preventative maintenance on cranes and weekly cable inspections.Inspects and cleans shipside/crane work area to ensure safe environment and assists with spill clean-ups.Inspects rigging gear weekly and reports any failed pieces to management.Cross trains with Signal Person.Performs all other duties as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: Six months Stevedoring or  Operations experience.LICENSE: Valid State of Florida Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or ability to obtain within 30 days.  Certified to operate a forklift.TRAVEL: N/APHYSICAL: Operations – Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld.  Ability to frequently twist, bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb on equipment, push/pull 50 pounds, crawl, lift and carry at least 80 pounds on a daily basis.  Able to withstand constant exposure to extreme weather conditions.LANGUAGE: English

Documentation Leader

JOB SUMMARY Monitors daily workflow of Documentation Coordinators.  Assumes responsibility of manager in his or her absence.  Works with Operations to resolve problems and meet deadline requirements.-Monitors daily work flow of Doc. Specialists.  Keeps manager informed of any problems or delays including employee performance issues.-Review and distribute Freight Corrections to Doc. Specialists on disputes, advises manager on a weekly basis.-Spot audit receive for shipments, researches reoccurring traffic nonconformance’s and or service failures.-Develop and implement an ongoing training process for new employees in conjunction with Training and Development to conduct one on one training, taking over after Training and -Development has completed the basic training for new employees.-Must stay abreast of new developments in traffic documentation, tariffs, outport procedures and governmental regulations.  Conduct regularly scheduled group training sessions to -communicate the above issues and reinforce existing procedures.-Facilitates Quality work groups as required.-Liaise with Traffic Trainers and Traffic Council on a regular basis.-Performs all other assigned duties.EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE: Three years prior experience in Documentation.LICENSE: Valid Local Driver’s License.TRAVEL: N/A
