JOB SUMMARY Inspects and receives cargo to protect the interest of Tropical and its customers. Verifies that cargo meets Tropical’s minimum requirements for cargo acceptance. Notifies Supervisor / Crew Leader for problem resolution when cargo does not meet Tropical requirements. Measures and documents the shipment’s size, type and characteristics along with complete written record of any discrepancies. Applies proper Tropical labels, according to cargo marks and paperwork, and enters correct data in the warehouse management system, preparing cargo for putaway. Operates a forklift as part of the receiving, stripping, or putaway processes. SummaryAssists with various maintenance responsibilities.Duties & Responsibilities:Inspects and tests 20- and 40-foot mechanical reefers and gen-sets. – Performs complete preventive maintenance on mechanical reefers and gen-sets. – Maintains accurate records of work performed. – Performs corrective maintenance on loaded casualty units including using vacuum pump/recovery machine. – Performs soldering and torch usage repairs. Ability to solder copper to brass/stainless. Leak check all components, evacuate, R&R drier and charge unit. Diagnose faulty compressors. Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on all equipment including but not limited to: chassis underslung, clip-on generators as well as containerized / portable generators. Performs major and minor repairs on engines and generators including diagnosing oil leaks. Diagnose field, safety switch issue repairs. Perform Transfresh Operations.
